Wood wallpaper is just the thing  to create an interior that is inviting and rustic.

Decorating with natural materials is on top of everyone’s list especially when it comes to using wood or timber. These days the cost of real timber has escalated but not if you use wallpaper.

You can create any natural timber look you like with wood panel wallpaper at a fraction of the cost but with all the natural ambience.

You might remember the scrapwood wallpaper that Sophie and Dale used from “The Block” 2012. They were decorating an office and wanted a unique look which was easily achieved with rustic looking scrapwood wallpaper. This particular paper had an aged look about it featuring old planks with paint that has begun to rub off revealing timber underneath.

It’s a great wallcovering and is so realistic that most people have to actually touch it to realise that it’s not the real thing. We loved it and went about finding other designs.

At Wow Wallpaper Hanging we are sometimes asked about about particular styles and design of papers and what’s on offer. The weathered and aged vintage look of timber and old planks has recently been very popular.

It’s hard to find exactly what will suit your needs when looking all over the web as different brands have different designs. That’s why we like to blog about wallpaper because it gives you a good idea of that exact design you are after but in one place. Once you are aware a particular paper exists and have the brand name and pattern you can then easily go about sourcing it.

We had a client who was interested in the scrapwood wallpaper and asked us about it so we had a look around and came across a few different varieties of scrapwood or wood paneling wallpaper to suit all tastes and budgets.

We love faux texture wallpapers, they look like the real thing and totally transform any area instantly. With today’s new technologies in printing we are seeing innovative companies producing some amazing and realistic designs just like the various wood designs shown below. They are from Kemra Wallpaper in Australia and really are amazing. They also do brick wall designs that look like old factory walls and all sorts of other  realistic images such as vintage looking bookshelves, cement panelling and even straw just to name a few.
